While I don't use Firefox, I would assume the procedure for transferring bookmarks goes something like this:
Find the favorites manager/bookmarks organizer, export the bookmarks to an html file, copy that file to the new machine, and utilize the 'import from file' option in the bookmark organizer

Yes, it can be done by this way.
Open bookmarks library, find menu export/inport (or something like this).
There is some item to export it. Do oposite on the second computer.
I recently allso found febe - extension, that can backup all your firefox profile. Restoring is little bit more difficult than with bookmarks, but if you're interested, search for it.
